i studied computer science and music at the university of illinois at champaign / urbana. i used to be a music producer and composer, but that was too expensive and even getting onto MTV Asia proved fruitless, so i gave up in music. i started using some of what i learned in computer science to create digital art. i lived and worked in japan in 2009/2010 and it's there that i became inspired. But gosh, there's a long way to go.
during my downtime in japan cafes, and now here in chicago, i play around creating what i now call "unfinished business". i am bipolar II and create work mostly when i manic, after which i pay the price and retreat to my living room where i stare blankly out at the city all night (too much information).
i collaborate with my best friend and co-artist over the internet and he takes my unfinished business and brings it to the next and final level with CS5. we provide custom giclee for our clients' homes and businesses and network with interior designers we find at the chicago merchandise mart. we will modify the colors and re-render to meet our client needs, creating series and original art upon request and sometimes work on-site with them.
we sell work as small as 8 1/2 x 11 and print as large as 4' x 6' (huge files!). i have a lot of false starts because i am not a trained artist and also struggle with my color blindness (red/green deficient). i have to memorize RGB values and use meta descriptions from palettes i find and buy online. i know the feeling of watching a romantic sunset, so when i see a palette called SUNSET PASSIONS or ARCTIC IMAGES, i sometimes know how to use it. i create create mostly junk and drag to the trash 95% of what i create. i make progress by being obsessive.
